Using Theater, Art, Dance and Music to celebrate African culture, its Heritage and the people

Macaulay Heritage Foundation was established in 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria to identify, protect and promote all legacy projects of Nigeria and Africa at large. We will use Theater, Arts, Dance and music to educate and instruct both adults and youths on our rich African culture and Heritage. The Foundation is encouraging the integration of the cultural past with the emerging technological future.

GLADSTONE OLUFEMI MACAULAY

Founder and Chairman of Board
A UK trained Engineer and lover of the Arts, Gladstone’s interest has always been there from his school days in England. This keen interest was channeled into the production of a Documentary series called “People and Places” in UK on BEN TV and OBTV,  in 2003 for 2 seasons.
One of the notable Stage plays Produced by him was the “Rape of Gidiolu” at the Muson Centre, a play written and Directed by his brother Wale Macaulay.
His passion to impart Historically relevant information to our youth and impact the sense of origin and belonging, led to the formation of the foundation. Our aim is to use Stage Art and Craft, Media, Films, Documentary, Concerts and Lecture to engage the minds and to be the repository of fine, Correct Historical content for posterity.

WALE MACAULAY

Artistic Director

Wale Macaulay  is a versatile artiste educated in Nigeria and in England. He is an actor, poet, director, and a playwright. His works on stage and screen has drawn critical acclaim locally and internationally. Prominent among his performances on stage are Wole Soyinka’s Swamp Dwellers, Ola Rotimi’s Kurunmi and The Gods are not to blame, Friedrich Durrenmatt’s Conversation at Night, and Femi Osofisan’s Twingle Twangle.

On screen, he is better known for remarkable roles in Amaka Igwe’s Violated, Tunde Kelani’s celebrated Thunderbolt (Magun) and O l’eku and the MNET hit cable television series Doctors Quarters and Tinsel. Others are National Television drama credits which read like a list of virtually all the hit series in the past thirty years from National Television Authority (NTA) play of the week series through Mirror in the Sun, Third Eye, Charley Boy Show, Chevron Drive and Stay Alive and Family ties, to Super Story and Everyday People. He played the lead character Akin Coker in his first ever sitcom series, Keeping it Real on which he was also the Associate Producer.

Recently, he was engaged as a Content Director on the famed Big Brother Nigeria project and was also the Big Brother voice. A songwriter too, his more successful songs include Ti o ba si ti Oluwa ni delivered by Grammy Award nominee, King Sunny Ade and Lucifer performed by reggae artiste Ras Kimono.
He also wrote and Directed ‘’ Rape of Gidiolu’’ at the Muson to rave reviews.
